Team coaching
Team coaching is a coaching approach applied to the team as a whole, an integrated system focus on measurable results. When coaching a team, the focus is on developing the collective entity instead of developing each team member. Using a systemic approach, team coaching transforms the relationships (interfaces) between team members into productive interfaces. A system is as powerful as the weakest interface. When a team is in a meeting all the interfaces are active, either working effectively towards the objectives or against it. Most team meetings are focused most of the time on analyzing the past and finding faults instead creating options and action plans.
When team coaching works?
- Developing a mature and autonomous team, centered on results, reactive and responsible, able to learn continuously
- Developing business results, using time and other resources efficiently, taking decisions and actions instead avoiding it or justifying why is not possible
- Improving quantity and quality for team projects, services, decisions
- Empowering team members to assume responsibility, participation, taking risks, generate ideas, delegate properly in order to develop leaders inside the organizations
Team coaching centered on results can be applied to management teams and they will cascade it to the entire organization, project teams, research and development teams, sales and production team, and will help them developing new and creative strategies focused on their projects and improving measurable performance. Setting ambitions objectives and focusing on necessary means to achieve them will create added value within the organization, as a result of new and productive interfaces between team members.
Working with a coach, a team may achieve results such as:
- Effective and efficient team meetings: better prepared, dynamic, centered on strategic actions and results
- Leadership and collaboration within the team and the whole organization, creating a space for initiatives and responsibility
- Improving collective creativity and assuming the responsibility for achieving results
- Achieving company objectives without derailment
- Personal development of each team member as a leader focused on empowering others to participate and assume responsibility
- Better defining and implementing team projects, developing the competence of acting strategically.
How will we do it?
Team coaching starts, continues and ends with the whole team. The coach agrees with the team an accompaniment contract centered on specific and measurable results, clarifies the collective motivation, develops new perspectives from team interfaces and contributes to create action plans.
